“Foreigner” art series

The original title of the painting is “Esperando el metro” 46×65 cm, oil, canvas, 2023.
The painting from the “Foreigner” series (Extranjero) was painted in my first year of living in Spain, in Valencia. I lived in a small pueblo called Picassent. The friends laughed because the name of the pueblo resembles the name of Picasso. They say I settled in this place on purpose. Actually no, but it doesn’t matter that much anymore. This picture is about balance, how to stay in this unstable world, moreover, if the scenery is like paradise, but inside there is still war and pain. This is not a completely joyful picture, but there is hope and admiration for the beauty of this world.
The painting was exhibited at my personal exhibition in Valencia in 2024.
